Uniprot Function Description

Low concentration of a soluble form of IL6 receptor acts as an agonist of IL6 activity.

Part of the receptor for interleukin 6. Binds to IL6 with low affinity, but does not transduce a signal (PubMed:28265003). Signal activation necessitate an association with IL6ST. Activation may lead to the regulation of the immune response, acute-phase reactions and hematopoiesis.

Sample type

Recommended sample types are human plasma and serum. For other sample types e.g cerebrospinal fluid, (CSF), tissue or cell lysate, please contact support@olink.com for more information. Please note that protein expression levels are expected to vary in different sample types and certain assays may be affected by interfering substances such as hemolysate.
